Edit Student Compact in Word
One page fits a focused selection of early experience and short project entries. Choose two when additional work adds distinct evidence, keeping Skills at the end. Both versions use 9 pt body text; compare Academic Internship or Graduate Classic if you prefer an available 11 pt design.
Section order: Summary → Education → Experience → Personal Projects → Leadership and Activities; Selected Coursework in the two-page version → Skills
Replace the student-specific details
Update the target internship term, expected graduation and GPA. Label a tool learned only through coursework accurately. Replace the LinkedIn and project link destinations as well as their visible text; remove links to sample sites you have no equivalent for.
Shorten wording before compressing it
Keep the original 9 pt Arial body and tight spacing rather than reducing them further. Remove repeated duties and unnecessary introductions. View the file at full size to judge legibility; the browser preview can make small text appear larger than it will on paper.
Keep section endings together
After editing, check that each ruled heading stays with its first entry and that role lines have a bullet below them. In the two-page version, keep the additional coursework before Skills. Review the page break after changing project lengths or the number of activities.
Why this sample bullet works
Fictional example from the 1-page sample
Reviewed 280 customer records for accuracy and completeness, correcting inconsistent fields and flagging 24 duplicate entries before a campaign.
The bullet distinguishes the records reviewed from the issues found, then explains why the check mattered. It shows practical work without claiming ownership of the whole campaign. If you do not have counts, name the types of checks and the handoff or decision they supported.
Find the facts for your own version
- What records or materials did you check, and for what purpose?
- Which issues did you correct yourself, and which did you flag for someone else?
- Do your notes support a count, or would a specific description be more accurate?
Use only details you can support. You do not need to invent a number to describe useful work.
