Edit Graduate Classic in Word

Use one page when your internship, paid work and strongest project tell the story. The two-page sample adds further work and campus leadership before Education and Skills. Choose it only if those additions show relevant tasks or decisions that the first page does not already cover.

Section order: Summary → Experience → Selected Project; additional work and campus leadership in the two-page version → Education → Skills and Community on one page; Skills on two pages

  1. Keep role titles accurate

Replace the opening specialty line and summary with the work you can support. Keep the real titles of retail, service or campus jobs; explain their relevance in the bullets. Label a capstone or simulation as academic work rather than client employment.

  2. Preserve the role and date lines

Edit text within the existing serif paragraphs so the italic details, thin rules and aligned dates remain consistent. Keep the 11 pt body size. Check wrapping if Liberation Serif is unavailable or if your employer and school names are longer than the sample.

  3. Review the closing blocks

Keep Education with the degree and graduation details that follow it. In two pages, place the additional work and leadership before Education and the final Skills section. Remove unneeded course lines or repeated duties before tightening the margins.

Why this sample bullet works

Fictional example from the 1-page sample

Standardized five work instructions and tested them with three team members before the end-of-summer handover.

This shows a useful deliverable, a check with its users and a clear completion point. It does not need a revenue figure to explain the contribution. The scope is believable for an internship and keeps the intern's work separate from a manager's authority.

Find the facts for your own version

  • What document, process or deliverable did you finish?
  • Who used or reviewed it, and what did you change after their feedback?
  • How did you hand it over so the work could continue?

Use only details you can support. You do not need to invent a number to describe useful work.
