Edit Career Progression in Word
Choose one page for a selective history with a clear promotion story. Choose two when added projects explain decisions, implementation or coaching that matters to the next role. Expand recent relevant work first; repeating the same service duties under several titles makes progression harder to see.
Section order: Profile → Professional Experience, with promoted roles grouped by employer → Selected Project; additional projects and community leadership in two pages → Education and Skills
Separate the responsibilities of each role
Keep each title and date range under the correct employer. Use the current-role bullets for decisions you now own, then describe the analysis or coordination you performed earlier. Update the profile's years of experience and team size to agree with that history.
Keep the centered structure consistent
Replace text within the existing title and bullet paragraphs to retain the rules, centered headings and date alignment. The body uses 11 pt Liberation Serif. Do not use repeated spaces to repair alignment if a longer company name wraps.
Inspect the transition to page two
Keep each role heading with at least its first bullet and make any continued project easy to identify. Leave Education and Skills after the final experience or community entry. Recheck both pages after a font substitution or a substantial wording change.
Why this sample bullet works
Fictional example from the 1-page sample
Redesigned triage rules with Product and Support, reducing median first-response time from 7.4 to 4.8 hours while maintaining a 94% customer satisfaction score.
The sentence names the shared work, the improved service measure and a quality measure that stayed intact. It gives more context than saying improved efficiency. For your version, define the period and measure consistently, and keep collaboration visible if you did not act alone.
Find the facts for your own version
- Which workflow did you change, and which teams helped?
- What was measured before and after, over what period?
- What quality, service or cost requirement also had to be maintained?
Use only details you can support. You do not need to invent a number to describe useful work.
