Edit Student Activities in Word

This sample is supplied as two pages, with a shorter final-year section on page two. Use both when the recipient accepts the length and older activities add context. If one page is required, condense repeated participation and select the relevant years; a shorter record does not need smaller type.

Section order: Repeated name and contact header → Student profile and GPA → Senior year awards and activities → Junior year → Sophomore year → Freshman year

  1. Update the repeated contact header

Edit the Word header, not only the body, and check the name and contact details on both pages. Update the profile's GPA and its weighted or unweighted label from your own records. Replace all school, award and organization names in the year sections.

  2. Make hours and awards clear

Distinguish weekly commitments from total service hours, and avoid counting the same session twice. Name whether an award was received or a nomination. Preserve the existing 10 pt Arial text and year headings while replacing the sample's long activity lists.

  3. Check the second-page opening

Keep each year heading with its first activity, and inspect long award lines for awkward wraps. Verify that the repeated header and page numbers remain readable. The sample's shorter ending is not a reason to add unrelated activities or duplicate descriptions.

Why this sample bullet works

Fictional example from the 2-page sample

Junior Falcon Cheerleading Coach (coaches 1.5-hour weekly practice throughout fall semester – 6th/7th grade team)

This entry explains the time commitment, season and age group behind the title. Those details give a reader more than the word coach alone. If space permits, add one real coaching task or responsibility; do not copy the sample's hours or imply a result you did not track.

Find the facts for your own version

  • How often did you participate, for how long and during which season?
  • Who took part, and what did you help them practice or learn?
  • What preparation or responsibility did you handle yourself?

Use only details you can support. You do not need to invent a number to describe useful work.
