Edit College Application in Word
Only a two-page sample is supplied. Keep two pages when the application allows them and both contain useful evidence. If one page is required, select the most relevant commitments and shorten repeated year-to-year descriptions; do not reduce the type simply to retain every activity.
Section order: Contact details and short student profile → School and enrollment dates → Senior year: activities, service and work → Junior year → Sophomore year → Freshman year
Reconcile years and activity details
Replace school dates, grade levels, awards and team names throughout. Explain a change in responsibility when the same activity appears in several years. Use present tense for current work and past tense for completed activities, with dates that agree with the application form.
Keep the nested activity structure
Edit within existing activity and sub-bullet paragraphs so the indentation remains consistent. The file uses 12 pt Calibri; this preview uses Carlito. Check the Word copy for changed line breaks, especially in long award names and descriptions.
Check each year at the page break
Keep a year heading with its first activity and avoid splitting an activity label from its explanation. Verify hours and dates against your records. Check the recipient's accepted format before exporting, and remove an unsupported or outdated detail instead of filling every sample line.
Why this sample bullet works
Fictional example from the 2-page sample
Elmbridge Summer Camp Team Leader – Helped an adult coordinator run activities for fifteen elementary students. Prepared materials and supported two assistants during group transitions.
This activity description identifies the students served, the tasks performed and the adult coordinator's role. It makes the student's contribution visible without implying sole responsibility for the camp. The same approach can describe family duties, paid work or a smaller recurring commitment.
Find the facts for your own version
- Who did the activity serve, and how regularly did you participate?
- What did you prepare, organize or do during a typical session?
- Which decisions were yours, and who supervised or worked with you?
Use only details you can support. You do not need to invent a number to describe useful work.
